Content Takedown & DMCA Policy

Last Updated: 27 April 2026

1. Overview

TickerNews is a news aggregator that displays headlines, short snippets, and links to articles hosted by third-party publishers. We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), the Indian Copyright Act 1957, and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions.

This page explains how copyright holders, their agents, or affected individuals can request removal of content from the TickerNews index.

2. Who Can Submit a Takedown

  • The copyright owner of the content
  • An authorised agent acting on behalf of the owner
  • An individual whose likeness, personal data, or reputation is directly affected

3. What to Include in Your Notice

To be actionable, your notice must contain all of the following:

  1. Your full legal name and contact information (email required, phone optional).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work — the URL of the original article on your website and, if possible, the publication date.
  3. Identification of the allegedly infringing material in TickerNews — the headline as shown in the app, the ticker it was tagged against, and a screenshot if available.
  4. A statement of good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by you, your agent, or the law.
  5. A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (a typed full name is acceptable).

4. Where to Send Your Notice

Send the completed notice by email to:

Designated Agent: TickerNews Legal Team
Email: info@tickernews.live
Subject line: "DMCA Takedown Notice — TickerNews"

5. Our Response Timeline

  • Acknowledgement: within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Action / takedown: within 5 business days if the notice is valid.
  • Scope of removal: we will remove the specified entry from our index and from any cached notification history.

Because TickerNews does not host article bodies, the content will also remain subject to removal at the original publisher's site.

6. Counter-Notice

If you are a publisher and your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address. The counter-notice must include:

  • Your contact information
  • Identification of the removed content (URL as it appeared in TickerNews)
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification
  • Your signature

We will review counter-notices within 5 business days and, if valid, restore the content.

7. Repeat Infringers

We maintain a policy of terminating the aggregation of any source that is repeatedly identified as an infringer. Sources removed under this policy will not be re-added.

8. False Claims

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please ensure your notice is accurate and made in good faith.

9. Non-Copyright Complaints

For non-copyright concerns (defamation, privacy, personal data under GDPR right-to-be-forgotten, etc.), please email info@tickernews.live with the subject "Content Complaint" and we will respond within 5 business days.
